MY PLANS THIS NEW DECADE & ELYSIA RECOMMENDS...

Hello. How was your Christmas? How are you planning on spending the new year? Any plans for 2010? I didn’t have much to spend this year, but I wisely shopped and got everyone a present. Even though my family and I had to watch our budget, I had a very merry Christmas. I know next Christmas will be our best yet. I finally finished my rented book “Success For Dummies” by Zig Ziglar. I’m a BIG fan of his and have his latest book which is better than “Success For Dummies”. He uses God in his book constantly. I was not born yesterday, so I read to find useful lessons and discard the bad. I lost my notes to the book “You The Smart Patient”, so I’m making everyone in my fam a Medical Record binder at home. Some people don’t like getting “For Dummies” books, but why find a hobby and get a difficult book to learn from when you can find lots of useful information that you understand? Thanks to Zig, I made up a daily schedule, I’m calling my friends, I’m taking some classes. His second book says “One Year Daily Insight by Zig Ziglar”. Another person I’m a fan of is Joel Osteen who is minister of a arena sized church in Texas. I read his first book and took notes, it’s called “Become A Better You”. His latest which (I’m on the second chapter) is called “It’s Your Time”. For some fun ideas to keep happy, check out “100 Simple Secrets of Happy People” book. I’m going to read soon “What’s Age Got To Do With It” by Robin McGraw who’s Dr. Phil’s wife. After that, it’s “Merck Manual of Health & Aging” which gives caregivers info. I’ll have to come back and give all some websites on caregiving. Yes, I’m reading this so one day I can take best care of my parents and keep them happiest. Yes, I know my sibs will pitch in and help, but if I had sibs with a cold heart, I’d gladly do it all by myself. These books are recommended to you by me to keep you merry.
If you haven’t visited some of my fave sites, check out : www.beliefnet.com, www.joelosteen.com, www.ehow.com, Yahoo! Answers, www.cosmopolitan.com, www.craigslist.com, www.cnn.com, www.kcra.com
I hope you like the pic of the 5 foot Santa Clause. I got him from Costco a few years back. My brother likes dressing him up to look like a mannequin in our garage as people pass by. He puts a hat on him, gloves, and shirts sometimes just to name a few.
So, any plans to make 2010 a year of new goals? My plans are to keep healthier, trying to make my family happiest, keep my fam healthiest, respect my family’s rules and wishes, keep surprising my family with kind gestures to keep life fun for them, follow through with my promises (the top one being “being a practicing Christian” by “Being a kinder person”), helping out my others when they need help, spending time with my friends and future friends, being a expert at managing money, reading all beneficial material (e. computer programs, my current book “Anatomica”, & other “how to” books, and pamphlets in the doctor’s office, magazines in the waiting room & etc…), , watching educational shows only on TV, listening to commercials to see if I want any of those products and/or deals, A lesson I learned from one of my books is, don’t just say “I want to be a better daughter”, but be specific. I plan to take my GED test in 2010, go to school @ the non-ghetto adult education center (yay! Lots of Russian guys around! ;o) to learn math and go to school there for the Microsoft Office class to learn Power Point & etc. Anyway, these are some things out of more that I want to do. But let’s do one thing @ a time.

Anyway, Ima party like it’s 2009 in my pajamas w. Doritos Cooler Ranch chips, popcorn, pickles, and dinner. Oh, one other thing, I’m back with my boyfriend I met in late May of this year. I haven’t been to church in awhile, but I plan to go this week to my man’s church. It’s a Baptist church, but I arrive there at 9:15 AM even though church doesn’t start until 11 something because of bible study. It’s a lot of fun.
So, let me know, what goals are you taking head on this new decade? Any recommendations of books, websites?...

My poem (by Harold F. Mohn) for everyone = If You Keep God In Sight

When your hopes and dreams are shattered
And cause you grief & pain,
Do not despair but start anew
Your cherished goals to gain.

Do not lose faith within yourself
If failure comes your way,
But battle on with head held high
You'll find a brighter day.

Just as the sunshine follows rain
And daylight follows night,
Your hopes and dreams are not in vain
If you keep God in sight

My Christmas shopping is all DONE! Woohooo

Hello. Merry Christmas all! How are you? It was an extremely tired day for me today. I was sleeping deeply until my little brother woke me up. It was in the afternoon (I know you're thinking "Wake up!!!"), and nothing seemed to motivate me. Maybe it's just that I've kinda stopped trying in life anymore. I write motivational notes and even those don't make me wake up.

However, today I was shopping for Christmas presents and there were four people in front of me. I sighed impatiently and was highly annoyed. Then I thought "Have patience. God wants me too" and I did and felt MUCH BETTER!!!

The good news is I finished my Christmas shopping today! The only thing I lack is wrap or bags. I love bags so much better. I can't believe it's almost Christmas!! What happened to this year?? I remember January 2009 like it was yesterday. Halloween seemed like yesterday too.

The bad news of today is I want to sleep everyday away. However after my brother kept me awake, I was sitting on my couch feeling I had no energy to do anything, but forced myself to try and take a shower. I didn't think I had any energy to do anything and thought I'd fall down before I got to the bathroom. However, I managed to stay awake afternoon-now = 7:09 PM.

After my Mem = mom got out from work today, we decided to stop by at Taco Bell and I grabbed a Chicken Taco on the $1 menu. 1 was overly fulfilling. I saved 1/4th of it in my fridge. Before I wrote this posting, I was watching James Bond (who my brother calls "James BLONDE") with my dad. Next stops online = www.cnn.com, www.kcra.com, maybe www.ehow.com and www.cosmopoliton.com . When I'm awake I'm very interested in politics and try to daily watch the news or read it at www.kcra.com . You know who I think's attractive for a older guy? Anderson Cooper on CNN (e. Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN channel). Say what you wanna say, but he's truly attractive, but for a older guy. I don't date men any older than 8 years.

After that, I'm headed to watch the local or world news @ CNN, or Christmas movies on Hallmark channel. My mom ordered these Christmas movies in June of this year and the one I love the MOST is the Christmas lights one which is filmed in different neighborhoods with music, sometimes snow, and extraordinary Christmas lights, decorations, and nativity.

Anyway, take care. God bless!Lata!

Much Love,
Elysia

How to Keep SAFE during the Holiday Season!!!

Just me here to remind you how to keep a safe, healthy, and happy Christmas. Although Christmas is the time of giving, people don't give much thought about criminals in the parking lot of the mall. If you're a woman (even if you go to the mall in the daytime), bring along family members or friends.
2. Don't have your money exposed not just on your way to your car, but in the store too. If you ride the bus you especially need to do this because people have gotten attacked at bus stops.
3. Even in "Safe neighborhoods", DON'T go shopping early morning hours and late night. Although you want to miss the crowds and show up early, what's more important your safety or the presents.
4. Park in well lit areas
5. Bring only what you need in your purse in case of a purse snatcher. That means leaving behind pictures, a lot of money, make-up, tissue, credit cards, health insurance cards. Bring only the amount of money you need.
6. Shop online, but make sure the place is ligit.
www.amazon.com, www.craigslist.com, www.ebay.com
7. Another option that a lot of people are doing this year, is buying gift cards. Barnes & Noble have theirs, McDonald's, movie theaters, and restaurants just to name a few. Hint: My brother's friend's mom got a gift card for her and her husband to the "Cheesecake Factory".
8. As much as you want to show off your pretty Christmas tree in the living room window, make sure people who approach your house, can't see the presents.
9. Cover presents in your car when you go somewhere else to shop. But make it believable that you're not hiding things. For example, throw a sweater on the presents, don't fix it to be just right.
10. Never park your car near a van. Why? Because people can open up the van, and kidnap you. When approaching your car, look inside the cars next to yours for people.
11. Carry a form of self defense.
12. When driving during the Christmas season, keep your eyes focused on the road. There's lots of people who are too busy talking through blue tooth, looking for their CDs, or turning their head to talk to others, that that quick they get in an accident in the traffic and lose their life(lives of others).
13. Make sure before you leave wherever that you are wearing your seatbelt.
14. Make sure no one's following you as you drive or walk back home.
15. Wait until the holidays are over to take your driving test! Yes, it's exciting to earn it, but try following that advice.
16. When traveling with children, be aware that there a predators out their looking at your children as prey. Keep them in sight at all times. In the blink of an eye, children have been abducted. It's hard to find them in crowds. There's what I call a "Child Leash". You put it on your wrist and your children's wrists so you won't lose them. I was watching a movie yesterday called "Baby For Sale". As sad as that sounds, people do sell babies and children.
That's all I can think about right now. Thanks for reading. God bless all of you. Take care of yourselves during this hectic Christmas season. Let's celebrate Christmas with remembering Jesus's life in the bible, and Santa Claus. Later Alligators
Much Love,
Elysia

Santa CLAWS 2009

I thought this headline would get your attention! Now even your pet can see Santa Claus at...PetsMart!!! You pay a small fee and you get a picture and frame of your pet with Santa! The picture you get is from the "instant picture" cameras. You know, the one's where you take a picture and it comes out right a way of the camera? It takes awhile for the pic to show up. If interested, call PetsMart first and ask them about the price/fee. I would take my dog, but he's too wild. My cats flip out in cars too. :-( Merry Christmas to you and your family (including the pets)! Don't forget to get your pets something for Christmas. Whether it's a can food or stocking full of gifts for the pets, they'll be thankful for it! After all, Christmas only comes once a year

IHOP, DO YOU HOP?

Hello. Merry Christmas all! It's been a EXCELLENT Christmas season!!! I know I overate today, but I haven't done so in a long time. I enjoyed 3 oranges from my orange tree, a small chocolate ice cream cup, and last but not least, my dad took me to IHOP (International House of Pancakes) in West Sacramento, CA. I had 2 chocolate chip pancakes, 2 sausage links, 2 scrambled eggs, and hash browns, then for lunch = a GIANT chicken Quesadilla. I'm Mexican American, but even though I try hard to speak Spanish, I have problems saying the words and have no accent. Today was FUN!!! There's some specials at IHOP = gingerbread pancakes and a few others. Christmas is only once a year, check it out. I'm not saying feel free to have lunch there, I'm telling you to go because you deserve it! I still haven't got my Christmas shopping started, but will soon. I've got less money to spend this year, but guess what? I'm happier! Check out my blog entry "Keeping SAFE during the Christmas season!!!" At least give it a look over, nothing to lose!Merry Christmas! Take care. Lata!

The SEXY man in my life

Hello. How are you? I'm writing of the sexy man in my life who knows how to turn heads. His name...is Greyson. He has grey fur and yellow eyes. He weighs near to nothing but since my mom adopted him, he's eating normally. He's soft as velvet. He's de-clawed by the previous owner which is why he's only an indoor cat.
Grey, you're simply IRRESISTABLE!!! Actually that song was written about him. lol. Seriously he's been rated "Sexiest Man Cat of the Year". Seriously, he's simply priceless because he's more than Gold.
Five days ago when I was bringing in groceries he took off out of my house and was missing for 5 days. Everyone was stressed thinking we may never see Greyson again. However my mom was on her way somewhere when she saw Greyson at the end of our street right by a busy road. She took a uturn and there he was. Everyone's so happy that he's back. Thank God! If my mom hadn't have got to him sooner, he probably would've ended up dead on the side of the road hit by busy oncoming traffic.
Greyson's pic is coming up soon along with my cat "Little Girl Cat" because she's the only girl in her litter. My brother calls her "Little Gay Cat" LOL. Her original name is "Precious Angel" who my mom named. My brother calls her "Preshit". ;oD She just can't win! The only cat I have indoor is Greyson. Precious is feral along with her brother Tiger.
Thanks for reading. God bless all.
Much Love,
Elysia

NOT "Chocolot", "ChocoLESS"

NOT Chocolot, Chocoless! Current mood: energetic Category: Food and Restaurants
Hello. How are you? I've just started dieting and I find it extremely hard to limit my chocolate intake to a small portion every week than a candy bar a day. I read in a book "What's Age Got To Do With It" by Robin McGraw (Dr. Phil's wife) that someone told her "Sugar is poison to the body". When your body takes in sugar it stores it as fat in your body. Although it's easier said than done, if you're wanting to lose weight too, than surround yourself with friends who support you and turn you away towards eating too much calories and fatty foods.

GOOD READ = "YOU THE SMART PATIENT"

Hello. I bought this book long time ago, and I found it extremely useful regarding health. It's called "You The Smart Patient". It's got a bit of shocking sarcasm to it, but put that aside and look what you can learn. It helps you create a health profile and how to choose the best surgeon, questions to ask about tests, and finding the "right" hospital. Now, when I go with someone to the hospital, I bring my folder of notes written down on sheets of paper with questions to ask that normally everyone forgets or doesn't even think of asking. Check it out! PLEASE PASS IT FORWARD!!!

Healthy Exercising

Hello. It seems that I've taken the first step to losing weight, and that's watching my diet. Although all doctors say "Eat plenty of dark green leafy veggies, I do not like veggies except for potatoes and corn. However, I tried to cook spinach and cooked it with chicken broth and when I ate it, it tasted like nothing, only chicken broth. But if I eat a whole spoon full at once, I'll taste a mushy feeling in my mouth, and throw it up. I'm taking a multi-vitamin and encourage everyone to do so too. There's "Centrum Mature", "Centrum Performance" w/ lots of B vitamins for energy.
The next step after dieting is, exercising. The #1 form of exercise to lose weight is "walking". Why? Because you're using your whole body for it. Running puts a toll on your heart, but walking is what doctor's recommend. I don't like going to a gym, but I love walking around nature in my neighborhood with my mom and sometimes dad. There's a park with a walking trail that leads to a busy street, and that's what my mom and I call the looooong walk. But, my mom and I took a even longer walk from my house to the library and took the long walk home. I felt incredible. Sometimes you have to test yourself and do something you may not think you can do, and think is not important in your life.
It's a proven fact that "In order to give your best to help others, your health comes first!". I'm not meaning be lazy, but even if it's hard to brush your teeth before you go to sleep, do it anyway to keep healthy.
Another good way to exercise is bring out the dance music CDs and spend 30 mins dancing in front of your TV with no one around.
WARNING: Do NOT go walking in a bad area. Even in safe areas, it's recommended you walk with a group. Take a tree branch, cane, or alarm with you to protect yourself. Tree branches and canes can ward the dogs off. If your neighborhood is not safe, I advise you to join a gym. Another thing you can do is look into buying used exercise machines. My guess would be you can find them on www.craigslist.com .

It's NOT "Season's Greetings", it's "Merry Christmas!!!"

It's NOT "Season's Greetings", it's "Merry Christmas!" Current mood: energetic Category: Life
Hello. How's you day been? I can't get this issue out of my mind, so I'll let it out. It's supposed to be "Merry Christmas" and NOT "Season's Greetings". Every year that goes by, it seems that Atheists and other non-believers are trying to take God and Jesus out of the picture. Hello, this country was founded "one nation under GOD". Non-believers have their rights, but to try to change this country is wrong. I'm not saying there's anything wrong about celebrating Christmas with Santa Claus, but it should be about Jesus's birthday. Thank you

Thanksgiving and Christmas prep 2009

HEYlo (as in "Halo" of an angel) everyone. Let me know how you doin'! What I figure is most people on myspace may have over 100 friends but don't talk to any of them. Let's be friends! I made the effort, now yo u respond. I'm a great friend, and I try to be everyone's best friend.
Thanksgiving was AWEsome! I spent it with my parents and lil' bro. We had a 22lb turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams, and rolls. It was the BEST Thanksgiving EVER!!! I lilke the dark meat, but what you want and what you need are two different stories, so yeah, I had the white meat. My dog, Goliath celebrated his Thanksgiving along with my mom's cat Greyson who had his Fancy Feast, Ocean Whitefish and Tuna feast. It was the first time in a long time that my family and I sat together at our dinner table and talked.
I hope you had as much of a great time or better as I did! Feliz Navidad! Hope you all have your Christmas trees up w/ colored lights and ornaments.
It's been a hard year financially for most people, so sadly, a lot of people aren't able to spend much on Christmas. However, my mom told me some wise advice , "Washing your brother's car is a present". I like that! Yes, but that's not the only thing I want to give him. It'd be nice to give him something that peaks his interest at a store. Another good place to search for presents are thrift stores, the Dollar store (yes, a lot of poor people are going there to buy presents because they're hurting financially that much), and yard sales/garage sales.
Did anyone go shopping on Black Friday? Does anyone know why they call it "Black Friday"? Most people get their checks at the first of the month, so I'm assuming most people didn't go shopping yet. I stood inside today, but I'm anxious to see what cool stuff's up at WalMart and Target. I'm a easy person to buy for, I love make-up, jewelry, and books to name a few. I frequently visit my library and it's FUN to learn new things whether it's organization tips, stress reduction, happy people secrets, history, poetry, or gardening tips. Usually the last book I put up on my bed and desk is my math book. But today I'm getting it out because it's been long over due for reading.
God bless All! Feliz Navidad (AKA "Merry Christmas!)!
Much Love,
Elysia
